BARBARA NECHIS AWS, NWS

Barbara Nechis grew up in New York State and moved to the Napa Valley in Northern California in 1988. She holds a BA in History and Fine Arts from the University of Rochester and an MS from Alfred University. She was a faculty member of Parsons School of Design in NYC for many years and has taught seminars at Pratt Institute and throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

She has served as a juror and board member of the American Watercolor Society and awards judge for more than 60 organizations including National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Audubon Artists NYC, San Diego Watercolor Society, Watercolor West and New England Watercolor Society.

Her work appears in more than 40 books and publications and is included in numerous collections, among them the Butler Institute of American Art, IBM and Citicorp. She is the author of Watercolor from the Heart (Watson-Guptill Publications, 1993) and Watercolor the Creative Experience (North Light Books, 1979) and is featured in three instructional DVDs.

Her work is an exploration using the fundamentally abstract patterns of nature both as a source of inspiration and as a compositional element to produce effects that allude to the proportions and harmonies of the physical landscape without imitating it. She combines abstract principles with knowledge of the form and depth of mountains, rock, trees, crevices, and water, to produce an “abstract realism”.

She was born in 1964 in Bartin city of Turkey.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Arts..  In 1989 she began working as an Art teacher in high school. After serving 20 years she was retired. Rukiye Garip has been working in her own studio for 7 years in Balıkesir. She also teaches the students of various age groups in this workshop studio.  She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions with her paintings of   various techniques.  The artist works on all painting techniques but prefers watercolor most. JIN LI

Jin Li, a professional Taiwanese watercolor artist, was born in China and works predominantly in the medium of watercolor painting. Currently teaching as an associate professor at Taiwan Hsuan Chuang University (HCU), Jin Li was also an associate professor at Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in Hubei Province, China. She serves as a committee member of Hubei Contemporary Watercolor Academy in charge of cultural affairs. Up to now, Jin Li has had 8 solo watercolor exhibitions and several group watercolor exhibitions in both China and Taiwan. Recently she has been frequently invited to participate in exhibitions even for the rest of the world. JANSEN CHOW AWS, NWS

Jansen Chow is a signature member of American Watercolor Society (AWS) and National Watercolor Society (NWS).  He won an art scholarship and studied in The Art Students League of New York, New York from 1994-1996 and he also a student of Mario Cooper, a great America Watercolor Master.  Jansen has held 16 solo art exhibitions and took part in more than 300 national and international watercolor exhibitions since 1992.  He has won more than 60 national & International awards in oil, watercolor, photography & etching since 1988 including receiving 1st place 9 times in watercolor competitions in the USA, Canada, Turkey & Malaysia. Recently he is IWS Malaysia Country Head,   FabrianoInAcquarello Malaysia Country Leader and the curator of “1st Malaysia International Watercolor Biennale 2018”.
