Cesc Farré, Terrassa 1972, Spain

I am an architect from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC, Spain) and my artistic training, especially the watercolor technique, has been closely linked to the graphic expression and the illustration of the architectural heritage in which I live. got a scholarship. Currently, I combine watercolor instruction at school with master classes and workshops around the world with my own research. I am part of the group of watercolors of Catalonia and I am vice-president of IWS Spain and the international jury of art competitions. I am Mediterranean. This fact naturally translates into the light and the color of my watercolors but also in the contrast and the structured gesture with the drawing and the composition. I use a lot in my proposals the white of the sheet and I usually mix my colors directly on the paper to give maximum transparency and brightness. I work with natural hairbrushes on fine grain cotton paper with high quality pigments. My methodology is based on a specific study of what I am going to represent, sketches "in situ" and outdoors and further study work based on all the material. I am passionate about nature so I can define myself as a landscape painter, a subject that I have been specializing in for a few years. I am very inspired by the water and its states, especially in the seascape.
