Biographical information.

1988-1993 – studied at Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts, specialization Industrial design (Ukraine).

1990-1991 – internship at the Higher School of Art and Design, Halle (German).

1995-2001 – lecturer at Design Department, Lviv State Forestry University

 (Ukraine).  

2001 – present – Associated professor, Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals, Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine).  

Creative activity.

From 1993 – participant at international, national, regional exhibitions on painting and graphics, the author of personal exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad.

Scientific, educational and methodical activity.

Ihor Yurchenko in his creation adheres to the classical laws of constructing the pictorial plane on the basis of the laws: the law of integrity of "Content and meaning", "Golden Section", sticks to the laws of Gestalt psychology. Particular attention he pay to the problem of the movement and direction of constituent elements in compositions, the problem of drawing, chromatics, and the search for own pictorial language. A lot of time devotes to the experimental search and modeling of innovative compositions. In scientific work, he conducts research on the construction of compositions by famous masters of fine art. As an example, here presented the drawings of such studies. The results are used at theoretical lectoriums, at workshops and international seminars.

Investigates patterns of visual and morphological analysis, shaping works of fine art and design. The author of more than 30 scientific and scientific-methodological works in the field of art and design.
