MARIE ANNE PATENAUDE - ALEXANDRE

Marie Anne Patenaude-Alexandre was born in Montreal, Canada, and was raised in Syracuse, NY, USA. Drawn to the culture of her roots, she moved to Montreal, where she earned her degree in Design. This is where her initiation to figure drawing and watercolor began.

She then moved to Paris. Architecture, cuisine, and her first love: gardens designed by masters. She went on to pursue her studies in London, England in Garden Design, creating intuitive spaces for her clients.

Marie Anne painted only commissions, concentrating on her landscape design firm, where she was recognized by several awards and appeared as a featured Designer on ARTV (an arts cable channel).

Inspired by the desire for a new challenge and medium for expression, Marie Anne began devoting herself to painting, studying under many renowned fine artists such as Nicholas Simmons (USA) and Barbara Simmons (CANADA). Highlights include being selected for the EAU EN COULEURS International Biennial 2014 in Belgium, and by invitation to the National Watercolor Society (NWS) in 2015 as part of the Belgian exchange, the 2016 Watercolor Biennial Thessaloniki Greece, the 2017 IWS Portugal by selection, and in 2017 and 2018 Fabriano, Italy.


Marie Anne works primarily in watercolor and watermedia. Her work reflects her love of contrast. Whether transparent/opaque, courage/vulnerability, or the push/pull of control and surrender that watercolor affords. The uniqueness of the human figure is often featured in Marie Anne’s work. She manipulates, abstracts and translates to express her vision; one of courage, vulnerability and the beauty of imperfection.

ROBERT WADE AWS

Born in Melbourne, Australia, 1930, the distinguished Australian artist, Robert A. Wade, has gained International acclaim. He has exhibited with most of the major Watercolour Societies in the World and won important awards in many countries. In 1986 he received the "Advance Australia Medal" for his outstanding contribution to Australian art, in 2003 he received the Medal of The Order of Australia for “his contribution to Watercolour as Artist, Educator and Promoter of Australian Art.” He was elected "Artist of the Year", Victorian Artists' Society, 1985 and 1986; in 1988 he received the "Winsor and Newton Australian Bi-Centenary Award for Watercolour". His work has received 13 Major overseas awards, in England, France and USA, plus 95 awards in Australia. JANSEN CHOW AWS, NWS

Jansen Chow is a signature member of American Watercolor Society (AWS) and National Watercolor Society (NWS).  He won an art scholarship and studied in The Art Students League of New York, New York from 1994-1996 and he also a student of Mario Cooper, a great America Watercolor Master.  Jansen has held 16 solo art exhibitions and took part in more than 300 national and international watercolor exhibitions since 1992.  He has won more than 60 national & International awards in oil, watercolor, photography & etching since 1988 including receiving 1st place 9 times in watercolor competitions in the USA, Canada, Turkey & Malaysia. Recently he is IWS Malaysia Country Head,   FabrianoInAcquarello Malaysia Country Leader and the curator of “1st Malaysia International Watercolor Biennale 2018”.
